\\CAN I DRESS UP?

Please do! Our club strives to recreate clothing and (amongst other things!) from the time between 600-1600 CE but you do not have to follow those guidelines. This faire is meant to entertain and amuse, so feel free to dress to the nines in any historical, fictional, or fantastical costuming you may desire. Please note that this is a family event so keep inappropriate costumes in the closet! If you have questions about prop weaponry please look to our PROHIBITED ITEMS 

list toward the bottom of the page. 

 

 

\\EVENT TIMES

Just in case you missed it, the faire is from 10am to 4pm. 

 

 

\\PARKING OPTIONS

There will be a designated lot with a sign that says EVENT PARKING. Once we have secured the lot for our event we will post the number and directions immediately. If you are a Rutgers Student with a Rutgers Parking Pass, you can park in ANY residential lot without penalty. The closest Resident Parking lots are located next to the Newell Apartments on Douglass Campus. 

 

 

\\RUTGERS PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Rutgers University hosts an extensive public bus system, if you do not live on Douglass Campus, or cannot park close to our event, you may need to use this service. Since the event is on Satruday the Weekend Bus schedule will be in effect. 

The stop for our Event is called BEIL ROAD, you will be able to see the faire FROM THE BUSSTOP.

\\ ATMS

A CHASE Bank ATM is available inside the Cook Campus Center, which is across the street from our venue. 

 

 

\\ENTRY & SECURITY

There is no Entry fee to the Faire. If there is an emergency situation, RUPD, and NBPD are close on hand. 

 

 

\\ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

This event is associated with Rutgers University, it is also a family event, therefore no alcohol is permitted. 

 

 

\\WEATHER

There will be a rain date if the weather is too wet for us to deal with.

 

 

\\THESE ITEMS ARE ALLOWED

Reenactment weapons carried by insured members of the Markland Medivial Militia or of the Society for Creative Anachronism. LARP boffer weapons. Dogs. Costumes. 

 

 

\\THESE ITEMS ARE PROHIBITED

 The following items are forbidden at the RRF:

  • Functional firearms (including air soft guns, BB guns, cap guns, paintball guns and pellet guns)

  • Realistic replica firearms (including reproduction, fake or toy guns that can be confused for functional firearms. The barrel of all prop firearms must be covered with brightly-colored caps.)

  • Functional projectile weapons (including blow guns, crossbows, long bows, silly string, slingshots, water balloons and water guns)

  • Sharpened metal-bladed weapons (including axes, daggers, hatches, knives, kunai, shuriken, swords, sword canes and switch blades)

  • Explosives (including firecrackers and fireworks)

  • Chemical weapons (including mace and pepper spray)

  • Blunt weapons (including brass knuckles, clubs and nunchaku)

  • Hard prop weapons (including props made of metal, fiberglass and glass) * Unless you are a member of any of the insured Medivial Reenacment groups participating in the event. 

  • Instruments that cause excessive noise levels like vuvuzelas, grenade whistles and grenade horns

  • Whips 

  • Aerosol mustard
